If the Dark versus Golden Submission idea is right, it is not good to take a submissive away from submission. It would be like removing a plant from water. The submissive grows into something ugly without a dominant. But there is still a beautiful person inside, a person with a lot of potential and a lot of good. We want to find the right "light" to bring out the best in that submissive.
